Hot new opening! Burke HR is actively seeking an HR Manager with a strong generalist background in IL! A consumer product company needs somebody to lead HR operations in a union manufacturing facility in the Chicago area. You’ll direct plant HR initiatives & activities in all areas including investigation, grievance, compensation, benefits, organizational development, performance management, health & safety, training & development, and labor relations. You’ll study current practices & policies and make recommendations to establish an effective recruiting & retention program, improve employee morale, promote a productive work environment, and ensure legal compliance (ERISA, NLRB, EEO, OSHA, etc). This is a union facility 500-600 employees. Compensation for this position is 75-90K plus bonus.
This is a hands-on position. We’re looking a high energy strategic thinker who is self motivated & proactive. You’ll need strong organizational skills and outstanding communication & negotiation skills to be successful in this position.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors Degree in HR or related field
- Must have Union experience (Grievance and Investigation)
- 10 years HR progressive generalist experience in a plant environment/5 years management experience
- Labor relations experience a must
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus
- PHR/SPHR preferred
- Computer proficiencies
- Excellent oral & written communication skills
